When is Warzone Season 5? Release Date & Time, Roadmap & More
We’ve had a full reveal for Season 5, meaning we know most of what to expect when it drops. There’s new maps, modes, operators, weapons and even a reveal of next year’s Call of Duty installment as part of a Warzone event. It’s all exciting –but when exactly does MW2 and Warzone S5 drop?
Warzone Season 5 Confirmed Release Date
As perActivision’sconfirmation,Warzone andModern Warfare 2Season 5 will begin on Wednesday June 20, 2025.That tracks with when we expected based on Season 4’s Battle Pass expiration.
On August 2, Season 5 will go live at9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST / CEST 6pm / 3am AEDT.That’s also pretty standard given past seasons and content drops.
Patch notestypically release a few hours ahead of the season itself, while pre-loads are a little bit murkier. Most of the time, these also become available on the day of the launch. PS players also tend to pre-load earlier than other platforms because of Sony’s ongoing exclusivity deal with Activision.

Season 5 Content: MW2, DMZ and CoD 2023
Activision have now released a full seasonal roadmap, meaning we know what to expect with the launch and the content that’ll come in-season. For a full rundown of what’s been announced to this point, check out ourearly Season 5 patch notes.
Among other things, we know there’s two new weapons coming to Warzone and MW2, one of which is a lot like the FAMAS of old CoD titles. The other is a semi-automatic sniper rifle. There’s also two new maps, one of which is Strike from 2007’s Modern Warfare and the other called Punta Mar.
DMZ is receiving huge changes, with the Konni Group emerging as a new threat and four new items coming. One will even give players immunity from enemy AI for a short duration, disguising them entirely.
Warzone will be receiving two new vehicles and a Call of Duty 2023 reveal event. There’soperator skins for Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage. No, you didn’t read that wrong.
In short, there’s tonnes to be excited about and plenty of mystery and intrigue in the air as well. Either way,that’s all the Season 5 news and the release date for the content.
